Change it up with these 7 fast and easy hairstyle ideas! Make sure you remember to brush through your hair each time prior to styling so your hair will be smooth and frizz-free to work with.

 

Materials

1 Silk Scarf
1 Hair Brush
Hair Elastic
Bobby Pins

Basic Braid Updo

  1. Place the silk scarf around your neck.
  2. Divide your hair into 2 equal sections at the nape of your neck.
  3. Take the left section of your hair and part it in half.
  4. Insert the silk scarf into the parted hair as the middle section and start braiding it with your hair. Tie it with an elastic band when you’re done.
  5. Repeat step 4 for the other side of your hair.
  6. Take the braids and wrap it around your head, the right-side braid goes around to the left side and vice versa.
  7. The two ends of the braid come together towards the front of your head, tie with elastic to secure.

Cute French Braid Bun

  1. Gather a small section of hair from the right corner of your forehead and tie it with elastic.
  2. Tie the middle of the silk scarf around the elastic.
  3. Gather a section of hair on the right side with one end of the silk scarf, weave it above the ponytail you created in step 1.
  4. Gather a section of hair on the left side with the other end of the silk scarf, weave it above the section you created in step 3.
  5. Start creating a french braid* with these three sections.
  6. When you’ve finished creating a french braid, secure the ends of the braid with elastic.
  7. Take the tail of the braid and wrap inward to create a small bun, secure the bun using bobby pins.

Quick Half Tuck-In Hairstyle or Fancy Tuck-In Braid

  1. Fold/roll the silk scarf into a thick band.
  2. Wrap the scarf around your head like a headband, tie the ends together at your forehead.
  3. Gather the left section of your hair, tuck it over and inside the headband. Repeat for the right side.
  4. Now you’re done with the half tuck-in! Continue to step 5 for a fancy tuck-in braid.
  5. The middle part of your hair remains, divide it into 3 sections and create a basic braid, secure the braid with an elastic.

Scarf Side-Braid

  1. Side part your hair to the right. Gather a small section of hair from the middle of your right-part, secure it with elastic.
  2. Tie the middle of the silk scarf around the elastic.
  3. Take the ponytail you created in step 1 along with the two ends of the silk scarf as one section, take a section of hair on either side and start braiding down your right-part.
  4. Take the braid you created in step 3 along with the rest of your hair and tie it into a ponytail on the back of your head using an elastic band. The last bit of silk scarf at the end can be used to wrap around the elastic band, just secure it by pulling it under itself.

Silk Scarf Wrapped Bun

  1. Create a ponytail by gathering all of your hair together at the top of your head and securing it with an elastic band.
  2. Wrap the ponytail around the elastic to create a tight bun, secure the bun with another elastic.
  3. Fold the silk scarf diagonally to create a triangular shape, wrap the downwards-triangle scarf around the back of your head and tie the ends at your forehead.

Half Braid Updo

  1. Starting at the top of your head, create a french braid, and stop at the crown of your head. Secure the braid with elastic and tie the middle of the scarf around it.
  2. Tie up a small section of hair right under the braid, cross this section of hair over the ends of the braid, then weave this section of hair around the ends of the scarf to create a loose braid, secure the hair end with elastic.
