How many of you get that midday slump and just can’t function? Or feel uninspired and lose motivation to get that task finished?

Sometimes the solution is a simple caffeine fix, but other times, your body and mind need to midday kickstart! We’re going to share with you five ways to pump your motivation wherever you are!

1. Pastel Lattes

pastel latte

Listen to your body. When you’re feeling low in energy, chances are that your body needs an afternoon pick-me-up motivation session. Here are two alternatives to coffee that not only helps the body and mind re-energize but helps you feel your best from the inside out. Bonus: they’re totally Insta-worthy!

Matcha Latte

Matcha is a great alternative to coffee and is a great source of caffeine without the jitters.

A scoop of this vibrant green powder is jam-packed with antioxidants, including catechins, which is almost 60 times the amount of antioxidants as spinach.

To make the matcha latte, mix a scoop of quality matcha powder with enough hot water to dissolve, and combine with your favorite milk (oat milk, almond milk, etc.) for an extra energy boost.

Lavender & Lemon Collagen Latte

When you’re feeling super stressed at work, why not relax with some lavender? Lavender plays a role in natural relaxation by relieving tension and stress, while lemon is great for balancing blood sugars within the body. As a bonus, the collagen powder is a building block that promotes skin elasticity and vibrant skin tone, build muscle, and burn fat all at once.

To make the latte, stir one packet of the Lavender & Lemon Collagen powder and enough cold water to dissolve the powder. For an extra boost in flavor and vibrant color, add strawberries and a teaspoon of Blue Majik (spirulina) powder into a blender along with the dissolved collagen powder and pulse until smooth.

2. Declutter

Sometimes the roots of our stress lie in our environment.

When this happens, the best action to take is to declutter and organize your space. By spending just five minutes to declutter and tidy up your workspace, you can calm the mind, think more clearly, feel more energized, and restore balance in your life. Here are 5 DIY organizational hacks you can follow.

Start by focusing on your immediate surroundings and putting things back where they belong: pens, highlighters, notepads, sticky notes in drawers and cups in the kitchen. Don’t be afraid to throw away what isn’t necessary because the key is to free up space.

After decluttering, clean surfaces using scented surface cleaners. Scents like grapefruit and other citrus help lift energy levels, while eucalyptus and mint help relax the mind.

We also recommend the book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo who delves into the Japanese concept of simple living through cleaning your surroundings.

“Real joy comes from within and by tidying up”

There’s no better truth than that. The takeaway is to adopt better habits.

3. Aromatherapy

essential oil diffuser
Aromatherapy diffusers such as the NOW Solutions Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser helps boost productivity and energy levels.

Did you know that our sense of smell is the strongest of the senses? It is best able to influence brain activity and is one of the most powerful memories recall cues and it can bring you straight back to a memory.

Aromatherapy may not be the first tool you think of to help boost your productivity and energy levels, but it could be perfect after a quick tidying-up session. Oil diffusers can help to moisturize the air you breathe in and fight harmful allergens and reduce inflammation.

There are many essential oils to diffuse and many different effects to lighten your mood such as:

  • Geranium – which can uplift your mood, reduce fatigue, and promote emotional wellness.
  • Grapefruit and Lavendin – they are known to boost your mood by energizing and uplifting, leave you feeling more refreshed, and helps combat stress.

4. Pampering on the Go

Skin

A couple minutes of self-care a day will keep the midday slumps away!

By the time the clocks ticks over to lunchtime, oily skin gals have now become oil slicks. To refresh your face, have a translucent mineral powder in arms reach. We like to use Innisfree’s No-Sebum Mineral powder to help control the oils and shine on your t-zone. Then finish up with a spritz of rose water to help your face look and feel rejuvenated and refreshed for the remainder of the day.

Mouth

Awaken the soul with a hint of mint through the nasal passages. The B-Fresh Breath Freshening Gum alters your mouth’s pH levels and invigorates your breath instead of coating bad breath. So whether you had that salad with onions leaving traces of your lunch lingering around, it’s definitely worth popping a piece!

Eyes

One of the biggest reasons for that sluggish mood can actually be caused by prolonged straining of the eyes. For tired eyes, consider lubricating your eyes with eye drops that are specially made for reviving tired and dry eyes from overexposure to computer screens.

Smell

Even trips to the restroom can help you become more alert and awake, especially when you wash your hands with aromatherapeutic soap. We recommend Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Lemon Verbena hand soap to help give an extra boost of energy by invigorating the senses.

5. Hydrating the Body & Soul

stay hydrated

When we are in the rush of things, there are times when we overlook our body’s needs.

When you feel tired or fatigued, think back to the last time you consumed at least a glass of water within the past couple of hours. Dehydration is a sure sign that can contribute to decrease in energy levels and leave you feeling sluggish and drowsy. To combat this, always make sure to keep a cup of water beside you or within reach and continue to refill it as soon as it’s empty so that you don’t forget to rehydrate the body. You’ll be making multiple trips to the restroom but it’s worth it. If you’re feeling stressed at work, you can also try one of these 2 oddly satisfying ways to de-stress.

Of course, there are plenty of other ways to refresh yourself but these are some of our personal go-to tips for boosting our mental and physical energy. Be sure to give them a try for a happier and productive environment!
