With the Fall season approaching, besides pumpkin spice lattes, you will need soft, fuzzy things to snuggle with. These 3 no-sew handknit blanket and cushion DIY tutorials are perfect to provide you with the coziness you need!

 

Soft Cushion Ball

Materials

1 Pair of Scissors
Chunky Yarn
Cotton Stuffing

Instructions

  1. Make a knot on one end of the yarn, then loop the yarn and pull the string of yarn through the loop, continue until you’ve made a total of 10 knots.

  2. Loop the yarn through all 10 knots, and continue looping to eventually form a bag-like shape.

  3. Find the first knot you made at the end of the yarn, slip it out of the loop and pull on it to close up the opening, then stuff the knot into the closed opening.

  4. Turn to the other side of the yarn bag with the opening, stuff the cotton inside.

  5. Insert the remaining yarn through all the loops around the opening and pull the string of yarn to tighten the opening.

  6. Cut off excess yarn and finish off with a final knot and insert the end into the tightened opening. Your cozy yarn cushion ball is ready for cuddling!

Cozy Yarn Cushion Cover

Materials

1 Pair of Scissors
1 Pillow
White Chunky Yarn
Grey Chunky Yarn

Instructions

  1. Make a loop and pull the yarn through it to create a slip knot at the end.
  2. Pull the yarn through the loop, keep creating loops until the desired length of your cushion.

  3. Now for the second layer, loop the yarn directly on top of the first layer.

  4. When you’re done, turn it around and do the same for the other side.
  5. Repeat step 3 for this side.
  6. Cut off the yarn when you have 5 layers on each side.

  7. Take the white chunky yarn and tie a knot at the loose end of the grey yarn to join them.
  8. Loop the white yarn through each of the grey yarn loops, when you’re done with one side, flip it over and continue on the other side.

  9. Continue looping until reaching your desired length.
  10. Take the loose yarn and measure out 3 times the widths of your knitted yarn, cut off the rest of the yarn.

  11. Put the cushion into the cover you’ve just created with yarn.
  12. Pull the remaining yarn through the loops around the opening area to close off the cushion cover.

  13. You now have a super cute, stylish and huggable cushion cover to place on your bed or couch.

Cute Hand-Crochet Blanket

Materials

1 Pair of Scissors
Blue Chunky Yarn
White Chunky Yarn

Instructions

  1. Take the blue chunky yarn, make a loop and pull the yarn through it to create a slip knot at the end.

  2. Pull the yarn through the loop and keep creating loops to the desired length of your blanket.

  3. Now for the second layer, loop the yarn directly on top of the first layer.
  4. When you are finished with the second layer, loop the yarn directly on top of the third layer. Cut off excess yarn when you have created 8 layers.
  5. Take the white chunky yarn and tie a knot at the loose end of the blue yarn to join them, loop directly on top of the blue yarn.

  6. When you created 8 layers of white yarn, cut it off, take the blue yarn again and tie a knot at the loose end of the white yarn to join them, loop directly on top of the white yarn, this will create different color patterns on your blanket.

  7. When you created 8 layers of the blue yarn, it’s time to finish it off! Hold two loops on the top together and pull the yarn through, repeat this action until you’ve pulled it through all the loops. Cut off the yarn and secure with a knot.

  8. This crochet blanket not only keeps you warm and comfy, but it’ll also look great as a decorative throw on your bed!
