Commercial bath products are likely more expensive and may contain harmful chemicals, whereas making your own body salt from scratch calls for natural ingredients that you can easily customize. These body scrubs are also great for gifting friends and family.

 

Vanilla Mint Salt Bars

Materials

1 Cup of Epsom Salt
½ Cup of Baking Soda
3 Tbsp of Cornstarch
4 Tbsp of Coconut Oil
15 Drops of Mint Essential Oil
10 Drops of Vanilla Essential Oil
5 Drops of Blue Food Coloring
1 Spoon
1 Large Mixing Bowl
Soap Molds

Instructions

  1. In a clean bowl add in 1 cup of Epsom salt, ½ cup of baking soda, 3 tbsp of cornstarch, 4 tbsp of coconut oil, 15 drops of mint essential oil and 10 drops of vanilla essential oil.
  2. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.
    Squeeze in 5 drops of blue food coloring and stir again until the color is evenly distributed.
  3. Scoop the salt mixture into soap molds and fill it up to the brim. Gently pat the top to flatten it to an even surface.
  4. Let the mixture cool down and set for 6-12 hours.
  5. Remove the solidified body salt bars by flipping the mold over.

Pink Rose Bath Salt Bars

Materials

3 Cups of Epsom Salt
1 Cup of Baking Soda
½ Cup of Pink Salt
2 Tbsp of Cornstarch
½ cup of Coconut Oil
15 Drops of Rose Essential Oil
5 Drops of Rosehip Oil
5 Drops of Red Food Coloring
1 Spoon
1 Large Mixing Bowl
1 Large Ice Cube Mold Tray (preferably with 6 compartments)

Instructions

  1. In a clean bowl add in 3 cups of Epsom salt, 1 cup of baking soda, ½ cup of pink salt, 2 tbsp of cornstarch, ½ tbsp of coconut oil, and 15 drops of rose essential oil.
  2. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Squeeze in 5 drops of red food coloring and stir until the mixture turns a rosy pink color.
  4. Scoop the salt mixture into the ice cube mold, leaving a 1-cm margin at the top empty.
  5. Squeeze 5 drops of rosehip oil into each mold, then use the back of a spoon to gently pat down.
  6. Let the mixture cool and set for 6-12 hours.
  7. Remove the solidified body salt cubes by flipping the mold over.

Lemon Mint Salt Scrub

Materials

1 Cup of Epsom Salt
½ Cup of Pink Salt
10 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
10 Drops of Mint Essential Oil

1 Large Mixing Bowl

Instructions

  1. In a clean bowl add in 1 cup of Epsom salt, ½ cup of pink salt,10 drops of mint essential oil and 10 drops of lemon essential oil.
  2. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Scoop the salt scrub mixture into a glass mason jar and store under room temperature.
  4. Decorate the jar with a ribbon and it’s ready to be presented as a beautiful, handmade gift for your friends or family.

1 Small Bowl or Glass Mason Jar

Instructions

  1. In a clean bowl add in 1 cup of Epsom salt, ½ cup of pink salt, 2 tbsp of coconut oil, 10 drops of rosehip oil, 10 drops of rose essential oil, 10 drops of mint essential oil, and 10 drops of lemon essential oil.
  2. Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Scoop the mixture into a bowl for use or store in a glass mason jar.
