Bow-Tie Hem Jeans

Materials

1 Pair of Scissors
1 Tweezer

Instructions

  1. Lay your jeans on a flat surface.
  2. Cut off 1 inch of the hem.
  3. From the middle of the ankle, make a 5-inch long cut upwards.
  4. Take a tweezer, pick up any frayings on the bottom of the slit and pull it upwards to tear it into threads.
  5. Keep tearing until you get 10 threads on either side of the slit.
  6. Tie the two bundles of threads together into a bow.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for the other pant leg.

Easy Embroidery Fix on Wear & Tear

Materials

1 Needle
Embroidery Floss (Red, Green)

Instructions

  1. Thread the needle with red embroidery floss, tie a knot at the end of the thread.
  2. Pass the needle through the tear and stitch back and forth at the area in straight stitch style to create the long, cone shape of a carrot.
  3. When you’ve covered up the tear entirely, pass the needle to the back of the fabric and make a knot, cut off excess floss.
  4. Thread the needle with green embroidery floss, tie a knot at the end of the thread and pass the needle on top of the orange cone, make 5-6 vertical straight stitches on top to resemble the carrot leaves.
  5. Pass the needle to the back of the fabric and make a knot, cut off excess floss.

Upgrade Jeans with Embroidery Patches

Materials

1 Needle
1 Sharpie
1 Embroidery Hoop
Embroidery Floss (Red)

Instructions

  1. Place the inner ring of the embroidery hoop into one ankle leg of the jeans.
  2. Place the other hoop over the denim fabric and tighten the screw securely.
  3. Use the sharpie to draw a heart shape inside the hoop.
  4. Thread the needle with red embroidery floss, tie a knot at the end of the thread.
  5. Pass the needle through the left side of the heart outline and make vertical straight stitches all the way across to the right.
  6. Take the needle and starting at the top of the heart, run it horizontally over and under each vertical thread to create weave stitches. Continue all the way down to the heart’s bottom.
  7. When you’ve covered the entire heart with weave stitches, bring the needle to the back of the fabric, make a knot and cut off excess floss.

Quick DIY Fringe Hem Jeans

Materials

1 Scissor

Instructions

  1. Cut off the bottom hem of the jeans.
  2. Make 2 inch long vertical cuts across the pant leg to create long strips.
  3. Use your hands to grab the sheared parts and rub it against itself to create fraying.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other pant leg.

Stylish Denim Sew-On Patch

Materials

1 Needle
1 Old Denim Apparel
Embroidery Floss

Instructions

  1. Cut off a square piece of fabric from your old denim apparel.
  2. Place it over the tear on your jeans.
  3. Thread the needle with embroidery floss, start sewing from the corners of the denim patch, insert the needle through the fabric then wrap the thread around the needle and pull, repeat this sewing process around the patch.
  4. When you are done sewing around the whole patch, give the needle a hard pull to let the thread sink inside the fabric, finish off with a knot and cut off excess thread.

Stylish Cuffed Jeans

Materials

1 Needle
1 Piece of Print Fabric
Thread

Instructions

  1. Fold the hem of the jeans up to your desired length.
  2. Take your print fabric, fold it in half then wrap it around the hem.
  3. Thread the needle and sew up the sides of the fabric onto the jeans, do the same for the other leg.
  4. Put on your jeans and fold the hem to show off the fabric detail.

Materials

1 Pair of Scissors
1 Paper Clip
1 Needle
Thread

Instructions

  1. On the back of the waist, cut 2 slits on the inner fabric.
  2. Cut out a piece of the elastic band and cut a small hole on one end.
  3. Unbend the paperclip and hook the curve of the paperclip through the hole of the elastic
  4. Insert the paperclip along with the elastic through the slit to the other side.
  5. Thread the needle and sew up one end of the elastic to the jeans.
  6. Pull the other end of the elastic to tighten it and sew up that end, cut off excess elastic.

Quick Fix For When You Can’t Button Up

Materials

1 Hair Elastic

Instructions

  1. Insert the elastic through the buttonhole and loop it over itself to secure.
  2. Hook the elastic loop onto the button, you’ll now be able to zip your jeans easily!

  1. Insert the elastic through the hole of the zipper and loop it over itself to secure.
